To groundwater and geothermal specialists:

GSI specialist framework agreement.
I am contacting you to let you know that the GSI have issued a Request for Tender for a number of specialist geological positions in the Survey. This is a ‘Framework Agreement’ and will be applicable for four years. Amongst the many positions outlined, there are three hydrogeologist positions (source protection, project and assistant) and one for a geothermal specialist, in addition to GSI-wide positions such as geologist, geophysicist, geochemist and GIS consultant. There are also a number of marine/INFOMAR positions.
Groundwater Section do not have any specific projects relating to this particular RFT at the moment, but we anticipate that there will be at least source protection work this year, and we will look for funding for other (relatively small) projects over the next four years.
This RFT does not preclude us procuring consultants for other projects, but this method will enable us to employ consultants who are on the Framework Agreement Panel for specific projects as they come in and, therefore, in a more timely fashion. If you are interested in being on such a panel, you can apply through eTenders (http://www.etenders.gov.ie/search/show/search_view.aspx?ID=FEB314076).
Applicants deemed qualified will be placed on a panel that the GSI will draw from over the next four year period to provide such services. Personnel requirements will be identified for GSI work, and a Mini-Competition process will be used to award relevant positions. The closing date is the 10th April 2012.
Tellus Border research calls You may also be interested in the potential research and funding opportunities through TELLUS Border, who hope to run an INFOMAR-type of research fund. Please keep checking on www.tellusborder.eu for announcements.
Thank you for your interest,
