SUMMARY:IAEG Core Logging Course
DESCRIPTION:Due to popular demand\, this course will now run on 2 dates\, Saturday 17th October from 09:30 to 16:30 and Sunday 18th October from 9:30 – 16:30\, both at the Lisheen Core Store. \nIf you would like to register for a place\, please email: secretary@iaeg.ie with your preferred date and affiliation. \nIt will be first come first served. \nThe course will be hosted by IAEG council members\, with presentations from Miller O’Prey and John Colthurst. This course is suited to Earth Science students and early-career geologists looking for an introduction to the process of core logging. \nCourse contents includes best practices for gathering lithological\, structural and alteration information from core\, mineral estimation\, logistics of core handling and QAQC. Core logging is an invaluable and essential skill for any geologist and not something commonly taught during university courses\, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience. \nCourse Fees are €20 for IAEG Members\, €40 for Student Non-Members and €80 for Non-Members.
