DESCRIPTION:The Geological Society of London has extended an open invitation to a special evening on Tuesday 2 September 2025\, to mark the official launch of ‘This is Geoscience’ – their exciting new public engagement and careers campaign. \nLed by the Geological Society\, ‘This is Geoscience’ is a long-term initiative to reframe public understanding of geoscience and inspire the next generation of geoscientists. The campaign features new careers and educational resources\, up-to-date salary and job market data\, and insights into recruitment trends over the past two decades. DESCRIPTION:The Irish Quaternary Association (IQUA) is holding its Field Meeting – titled “The Quaternary of west County Cavan” on 5th to 7th September\, in Co. Cavan. \nThe Friday Evening Event\, featuring an introduction to County Cavan\, will take place in Belturbet\, at the Castle Sports and Gastro Pub\, with proceedings beginning at 19:00. \nRegistration costs for the event will be as follows: €35 for current IQUA members\, €25 for students/unwaged members\, and €45/€35 for non-members. \nIQUA regrets that they cannot offer one-day rates.
