SUMMARY:69th Irish Geoscience Research Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The School of Biological\, Earth and Environmental Sciences at University College Cork is proud to host the 69th Irish Geoscience Research Meeting in 2026. \nThis annual event\, widely known as the IGRM\, showcases the diversity of cutting-edge geoscience research that is currently breaking new ground in Ireland – and across the world. The event website is now live: IGRM 2026 – Irish Geological Research Meeting UCC Cork Ireland \nThe schedule of events at IGRM 2026 kicks off on Friday February 27th with an icebreaker reception in the “Domain of the Dinosaurs” exhibition in the Glucksman Gallery followed by an evening Keynote Lecture by Professor Erin Saupe\, Oxford University on “Determining the Correlates of Extinction on Long Time Scales”. \nTwo exciting days of talks and poster exhibitions will take place over the weekend\, with bountiful opportunities to meet\, greet and network among the attendees. \nA second Keynote Lecture on Saturday evening\, February 28th\, by Dr Susanne Schwenzer\, Open University on “The Geology of Mars” will be followed by the IGRM 2026 conference dinner\, to which all attendees are invited.\nKey Dates:\nRegistration opens in January 2026.\nAbstract Deadline: Friday 6th February\nRegistration Deadline: Monday 16th February\nIGRM: Friday 27th February to Sunday 1st March
