SUMMARY:Groundwater Modellers Forum 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Hydrogeological Group of Geological Society London are hosting the 2026 Groundwater Modellers Forum on the 4th November 2026 in Birmingham. \nThe theme of this year’s forum is “Do emerging challenges require new groundwater modelling approaches and tools?”\, as approaches to groundwater modelling face modern challenges such as climate change\, emerging contaminants\, ground-source heating and growing water demands including data centres and mineral developments. \nThese approaches may need to embrace uncertainty-based modelling rather than determinism and expectation of zero-risk\, and consider new technologies such as artificial intelligence. In some cases\, new technologies will be required\, while in others\, tried and tested solutions may address new challenges. \nThose interested can attend in-person (at the Priory Rooms\, Birmingham) or online. \nBooking is open\, with an exciting selection of presentations. \nMore details and a registration form are available on this website Groundwater Modellers’ Forum 2026 and the programme for the day is attached here. \nSimilar to previous years\, they have very kindly extended members’ rates to IGI members\, and remote attendance is possible.
