DESCRIPTION:This year’s IAEG conference will be held on the 21st and 22nd of May in the Tower Hotel\, Waterford. \nRegistration is now open. \nThe theme will be Precious Metals. \nAlong with a fantastic array of speakers there will be a round-up of precious metal projects on the island of Ireland\, student flash talks and posters. \nMore information on speakers\, associated events and a registration link can be found here: IAEG – 2026 IAEG Annual Conference – Precious Metals. \nStudent posters and flash talks: Submit a poster or 5 minute flash talk abstract on any economic geology topic to secretary@iaeg.ie  before the 24th April 2026. DESCRIPTION:As part of the IAEG Conference itinerary\, details have now been announced for free guided tour of the Copper Coast Geopark on the afternoon (2:30pm) of Friday 22nd May. \nThe tour will be run by Geopark Geologist\, Robbie Galvin\, Typically the (1.5-2 hour) walking tour takes you through Ireland’s only outdoor geological timeline. \nYour tour begins at the visitor centre at Bunmahon and takes you on a fascinating walk to the stunning geological site of Tra na Mbo.
