SUMMARY:Irish Association for Economic Geology (IAEG) Lecture
DESCRIPTION:The IAEG’s first Lecture series talk of 2026 will be a PhD seminar.  \nThe PhD seminar will be presented on the Wednesday 4th of February at 7PM online. There will be three PhD Student speakers presenting their work in 20 min talks. \nRegistration is open via the IAEG website here: https://lnkd.in/dBHGdT-Q. Please register in plenty of time to ensure you receive an invite in time. \nJack Beckwith (TCD) will be speaking on PGE in Carlingford. Victoria Susin (UCD/iCRAG) will be speaking on subsurface characterisation of the Stonepark and Pallas Green Zn-Pb deposits. DESCRIPTION:The Geotechnical Society of Ireland will host its Spring Seminar in Engineers Ireland\, Clyde Road\, Dublin 4 on Tuesday 17th February from 11:00 to 16:30. \nThe seminar\, entitled “Building Dublin’s Future from the Ground Up –Characterisation of Dublin Soils and Bedrock”\, will discuss the geotechnical challenges faced in underground construction in Dublin Boulder Clay and Calp Limestone. \nThe seminar will be topical given the number of major underground infrastructure schemes in planning in the Dublin region. \nA programme for the event is included in the flyer here. \nThe event will be in-person only at 22 Clyde Road. Soup\, sandwiches\, tea & coffee will be available for lunch.
