The next talk will be held on Monday, 1st December as a hybrid event, both at McArthur Hall, Methodist College and online via Zoom.
Refreshments at 6.30pm and the talk will start at 7.00pm.
The talk will be given by Paul Lyle and will be linked to Paul’s new book: GeoHibernica: The Irish Landscapes, Peoples, and Cultures, which explores the profound relationship between Ireland’s diverse geological foundations and the societies that have shaped—and been shaped by—its landscape over millennia.
More information on the talk can be found at this link: GeoHibernica: The Irish Landscapes, its peoples and cultures – Belfast Geologist’ Society.
Paul Lyle graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast with a BSc in Geology, followed by a PhD. He then took up a post as Lecturer in Geology at Ulster University where his research interests centred on the Antrim Lava Group, particularly those of the Giant’s Causeway.
Please note, there is also a discount available on the book (more details in the flyer here)
