The IGI is committed to providing a supportive environment where all geoscientists are welcomed and valued regardless of gender, marital status, family status, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, individuals with Ethnic Minority status, socio-economic or or neurodivergent status.
We recognise there is a need for increased diversity in the field of geoscience as demonstrated from this recent nature article and from our current membership composition. The IGI strives to create an equal, diverse and inclusive environment within the organisation, through its external participation in activities and its collaborations with other organisations. To this extent the IGI has set up a permanent committee with the objective of promoting and increasing equality, diversity and inclusion among IGIs members and in the broader geoscience profession.
