To mark UN World Water Day (which is 22nd March), the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI) will launch its new national-scale Northern Ireland Groundwater Resources Map on Thursday 19th March between 13:15 and 16:00 at AFBI Hillsborough, Large Park, Hillsborough, BT26 6DR.
Understanding groundwater availability and capacity is essential for strategic and sustainable resource planning. This map will support policy development, infrastructure planning, climate adaptation, and the energy transition, helping ensure groundwater resources are managed effectively to meet Northern Ireland’s future needs.
This event will be of particular interest to stakeholders in water management, energy, agriculture, environmental protection, planning, infrastructure, hospitality, tourism, the food industry, and policy.
