The Minerals Information Working Group was first convened in March 2020 to provide factual, science-led information on mineral exploration and mining in Ireland. The role of the IGI Minerals Information Working Group is to support the IGI in better informing policy makers and addressing misinformation and public perception problems surrounding the minerals sector in Ireland from a geoscience perspective. The IGI’s Code of Ethics and Constitution are relevant to all working groups and Professional members. The IGI is a professional body which represents members from many different fields. The IGI does not carry out lobbying activities.
